Your guide to eating out on Bold Street, Liverpool in 2021
"With acclaim from national reviewers, Bundobust's street food and craft beer philosophy may seem simple, but it's hella tasty. The Manchester restaurant is a must for sharing vegan food; though don't end up squabbling over the bhel puri - a mix of pastry, peas and tamarind chutney."
"Bundobust is a huge beer hall serving craft ales in the heart of Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens. It also happened to win Restaurant of the Year at the 2017 Manchester Food and Drink Festival awards, thanks to its stellar menu of Indian small plates."
"Well known as one of Liverpool’s best brunching spots, you might be surprised to find out that The Quarter is a family-run restaurant. Taking inspiration from Italian cuisine, this cute bistro-style venue on the cobbles of Falkner Street is famous for its contemporary European dishes and friendly vibe. Serving everyone from students to famous faces (including LFC manager Jurgen Klopp), it has extended three times since it was opened thanks to an enduring popularity and some delectable dishes on the meal."
"The Quarter is a renowned haunt for vegetarian pizza & pasta lovers. The Italian cafe on Faulkner Street inspired by the milk bars of Australia has an eclectic global menu with Spanish pizza below, one of its most colourful and tastiest treats. As co-owner Colin Manning put it: “Manchego cheese, roast peppers, rosemary potatoes & aioli is one of my favourite combinations on a pizza and it’s a vegetarian favourite too!"
"The Quarter on Falkner Square offers the littles ones a whole menu for themselves. They can choose from a selection of pastas and pizzas with ice cream for dessert, all for £6.50. There is even a children’s breakfast menu for if you’re looking for somewhere to eat in the morning."
"The waterfront is a great spot to enjoy lunch or dinner in Liverpool, and one of our favourite waterfront restaurants is Gusto. It’s a real gem, with sophisticated interiors and a menu to match. The menu is huge, with a seemingly never ending array of Italian classics to choose from."
"Gusto has become something of a household name in Liverpool. With a range of Italian dishes, spanning across the entire peninsula and featuring the freshest Mediterranean ingredients, it's honest, welcoming and sure to please every diet."
"Known as the most famous club in the world, The Cavern is a fantastic place to start and end your Saturday night out in Liverpool. With non-stop live music from midday through to 23:00, the party never stops. Live performances range from local bands playing covers and original material, to tribute bands from across the world imitating Liverpool’s greatest export, The Beatles."
"If you love The Beatles and find yourself down in their spiritual home on Mathew Street, then check out the new Revolver bar on Temple Court. Owned by the group behind the Rubber Soul complex, it’s got plenty of nice Beatles touches including lots of very cool artwork on the walls. Live music kicks off at 5pm daily and there’s no bookings, just walk-ins."
"A unique, family owned art café where you can get creative whilst enjoying a fresh, locally sourced menu. Paint, stitch or sculpt as you enjoy a craft ale or artisan coffee and homemade cake – you will enjoy it as much as the kids!. A clay imprint of your family’s handprints could be the perfect souvenir of your trip."
"Not many people know of this bar as it is not too easy to find if you don’t use maps. However, once you are in there you will be transported to the 1920’s whilst being spoilt for choice when it comes to what drinks you would like. So, if you are fancying a throwback whilst treating yourself to some drinks then Prohibition will be great for you."
"The well-known Watergate St really is home to some of the best bars in Chester. However, Prohibition is impossible to find if you don’t know where to look, and that’s exactly the point. This independent bar is situated at the top of the steps next to Lono Cove and harks back to the age of the roaring 20s."
"Brunch at Mary & Archie is available from Monday to Sunday until 4pm. You will find all the best classics in this homely, independent establishment. We recommend The Veggie Breakfast."
"You can’t afford to miss a minute of decent sun when it’s out, so for maximum soaking up opportunities, head to Entry Bar next to the Epic Hotel on Seel Street where you’ll find a continental-style outdoor space with a lovely Med feel. Cocktails, wines and spirits are on the go every day from 12 to 12, with some really tasty in-house creations."
"The Bastion Bar & Restaurant is a unique city centre restaurant that boasts an incredible Sunday Lunch. Set within the luxurious Shankly Hotel, whether you’re out for a special occasion, nursing a hangover or just on the hunt for a decent roast, then The Bastion is the place to be. The classic Sunday Roast at The Bastion consists of roasted strip loin of beef with tenderstem broccoli, chantenay carrots, mange tout and rich beef gravy served with a plump Yorkshire pudding."
"Why not go for something a bit different with the Bastion Bar, set in the luxurious Shankly Hotel, this swanky destination is perfect for those seeking a bit of sophistication. They offer a beautifully presented modern take on fish and chips, that doesn’t cut down on portion sizes. Enjoy your meal as you immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Bill Shankly within this striking restaurant."

"Carluccio’s offers a mix of sit-down dining and a full deli counter. You can order the signature Carluccio’s Breakfast (complete with eggs, grilled pancetta, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, and toasted bread), or take it a step further and order Carluccio’s Breakfast Magnifica, which adds on a cup of delicious Italian coffee and fresh fruit juice. If you’re in a bit of a hurry, then swing by the deli and pick up a fresh loaf of bread and some fig jam to take with you on the go."
"But this gurudwara is both a spiritual place and a learning center for Sikhs and their children. The gurudwara offers religious programs every day. In addition to this, they also conduct some educational programs for the young and the old."

Built in brick, painted with stone dressing, featured slate roof, and with an H-shaped design – Bluecoat Chambers was built between 1716 and 1717 as a charity school and then later on turned into an art center. It is one of the oldest buildings in central Liverpool and the most well-known in the area too, because of its striking architecture."
"Original use: Bluecoat Chambers were originally built between 1716 and 1717 as charity school. In 1718, they were extended to create a boarding school and by 1719, Bluecoat Chambers enrolled 50 children, with enough space for 100 more. Construction was finally finished in 1925; however, following the death of owner William Lever that same year, a demolition proposal was put forward."
"If highstreet brands aren’t really your thing and you would rather something a little more unique, the Bluecoat is the place for you. Based in the heart of the city’s shopping district, the Bluecoat offers an eclectic mix of unique and beautifully handcrafted products. With the best range of contemporary fashion, homeware and crafts around, it’s definitely one to visit."
