The Best Pancakes in Liverpool
"The concept grew from a love for the great American breakfast culture and nowhere does it better than the diners & delis of New York City. Our aim is to provide an American Canadian influenced breakfast and brunch experience with an authentic short order menu. From the classic Comfort Diner on 45th St to the cosmopolitan Pershing Deli at the south end of Grand Central Station, we wanted to capture the American & Canadian attitude to the best meal of the day and sought to create an eclectic mix of comfort food inspired by our culinary experiences.” Moose has a fabulous looking all day breakfast menu serving all sorts of amazing fare from the Might Moose (delicious homemade fresh potato hash fried on the griddle with garlic, onion and Dijon mustard. Topped with two Moose style fried eggs and three rashers of back bacon. Served with white or granary toast) to the Coney Island (Like native New Yorkers, a trip to Coney Island is a weekend treat. This is our classic Moose style boardwalk Hot Dog. A large 100% beef dog in a fresh roll on melted cheddar covered in our home cooked smoked BBQ pulled pork, slow cooked for 12 hours to a special Moose recipe. Drizzled with Cajun ketchup and topped with pico de gallo. Served with our delicious homemade fresh potato hash fried on the griddle with garlic, onion and Dijon mustard, griddled tomato and dill pickle) as well as eggs benedict, American pancakes and waffles (and lots more besides!)."
"The pancake and waffle legends, Moose Coffee, are of course here to serve beautifully soft pancakes this Pancake Day. You can order their classic pancakes with lashings of their Canadian maple syrup (which we need on tap) or pick from their tasty toppings. Moose Coffee are serving pancakes topped with either banana and pecan; granola and chocolate peanut butter; apple and homemade salted caramel; or smoky streaky bacon."
"Why: As with all of the other Ivy restaurants, this Manchester site is dripping in glitz and glamour, so breakfast here is as much about the surrounds as it is the food. Pastries and toast kick things off, while there are full English options for both vegetarians and meat eaters. If you fancy something a little more virtuous there is an extensive section dedicated to eggs and a light and healthy selection too, which features the likes of smoked salmon on rye bread and dairy free coconut yogurt with berries."
"Located in the heart of Manchester, The Ivy Spinningfields only opened in November 2018, but is already a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a little glamour. The Brasserie serves modern British classics while the The Ivy Asia and Bar serves Asian-inspired cocktails and sharing dishes with entertainment and resident DJs. There are also three private dining rooms - The Dalton, The Geisha Room and The Skylight Terrace."
"Home Sweet Home has grown from humble beginnings to many locals’ favourite eatery that now boasts two locations in the city. Whether you opt to eat in the original Northern Quarter branch or the newer venue in Great Northern, expect a huge focus on dessert alongside the equally impressive savoury menu. The ice-cream shakes hark back to the 1950s in the best possible way, American style pancakes are the ultimate breakfast treat and their deep dish cookie pie is to die for – and that’s not even mentioning the incredible array of colourful sugar-covered pimped out cakes that sit tantalisingly in their dessert bar."
"Impossible to miss thanks to the bright orange sign, Koffee Pot has a slight grunge feel to it and a legion of dedicated fans. Touring musicians flock here for their breakfasts; the bacon butties are legendry in Manchester and cost a mere £2!. Looking like it is stuck in the 1960’s with graffiti on the walls, leather seats, and squeezy sauces, many people peer in and walk past, onto somewhere a little more ‘hip’ but this is a big mistake!"
"There's no brunch institution in Manchester quite like The Koffee Pot. A favourite after a night out and for slow Sunday mornings alike, this restaurant has made breakfast an artform. With tradition English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh breakfasts to offer, The Koffee Pot is a must-visit restaurant when you're in Manchester."
"Located right in the city centre, Cosy Club is a great place to start the day with a hearty fry up before an afternoon spent looking round the shops. Their full English (£8.75) includes grilled smoked back bacon, Gloucester Old Spot sausage, field mushroom, grilled tomato, potato rosti, baked beans and fried or poached egg with sourdough toast. You can get this breakfast from 9am until 5pm - and they have a breakfast deal on from between 9am and 11.30am."
"With its oak panelled walls, ornate plasterwork and polished parquet floors Masons manages to be both glamorous and laid back at the same time. A private members club where everyone is welcome, it boasts its own martini trolley and a vibrant menu celebrating fresh produce from across the UK."
"Located in the refurbished Manchester Hall, you can stay for a long, fine-dining boozy treat or a quick lunch in the Grade-II listed building. British produce is served without fuss in a quality environment, and the martini trolley is a must-try."

"The Interesting Eating Company, based on Allerton Road, has been taking Liverpool by storm with their quirky sweet treat offerings. This Shrove Tuesday, they’re treating their customers with a buy one get one free deal on all their takeout specials ordered direct from the store. As well as all the staple classics like, Ella’s Palm oil free Nutella, lemon and sugar or maple and bacon, they’ve also concocted a special banoffee, chopped nuts and cream stack in honour of pancake day."
"If you’re out and about taking a stroll around Calderstones Park then the Interesting Eating Company is the perfect place to stop off for some pancakes. They offer a range of savoury crêpes and American Style pancakes with loads of toppings so there will be something for everyone. They are even able to make most of their recipes gluten-free!"
"Nestled on Allerton Road, The Interesting Eating Company is better known for its waffles and pancakes - but they do a brilliant breakfast, too. For under a fiver you can get two poached eggs, two sausages, two slices of grilled bacon and loads of baked beans, plus a round of handcut toast and preserves. They also do veggie breakfast."
"Located next to the Roman amphitheatre and Newgate, Chester Roman Gardens isn’t a regular garden because it’s packed with beautiful architectural fragments. The first thing you will see as you enter the garden is a mosaic. This is a reproduction of the Ostia style mosaic unearthed in Chester city centre which was laid within the Roman Bath House."
"Warrington Town Hall was built in 1750, and listed as a Grade I building nearly 200 years later, in 1949. The hall consists of a country house designed by James Gibbs for Thomas Patten - originally called Bank Hall - with two detached wings, all of which are listed. THe Patten family were highly respected merchants in Warrington, having made the River Mersey passable from Runcorn to Bank Quay, and owning a copper smelting factory."
"Constructed in 1750, Warrington’s graceful Town Hall was originally a mansion known as Bank Hall. This Palladian residence, with a pediment sporting the coat of arms of the Pattens, was built for Thomas Patten, whose family was in the copper smelting business. Bank Hall was sold to Warrington Borough Council by John Wilson-Patten 1870 and its grounds became Warrington’s first public park."
