A Guide to Manchester's New Openings in 2021
"Unusually colourful (its orange banquettes and Perspex back-bar give it a look of a 1980s Top of the Pops set), this Dale Street tap-house serves a mix of quality guest beers (Wild Beer, Mikeller, Burning Sky), and Beatnikz’ hop-forward brews, such as I Smash Citra and Generation IPA. The weekday cask ale deals are notable (recently pie ‘n’ a pint £5, Mon/Tues), as is Beatnikz’s ability to bag high-profile guests for its meet-the-brewer events. For instance Arbor Ales and US star Modern Times. Pint from £3.70, beatnikzrepublic.com"
"Beatnikz microbrewery is located in a railway arch in the Green Quarter, and their taproom used to be too. But they closed it last year and moved to a shiny new bar in the Northern Quarter where they’ve just introduced a beer slushie machine. Head in to enjoy their core range of beers."
"Regarded highly by CAMRA as one of the best local pubs (on numerous occasions, we should add), the Prairie Schooner Taphouse on Flixton Road features a selection of hand-pulled ales and craft kegs on tap. Not only that, but you can also buy a selection of bottled and canned beers from all over the world to take home with you."
"Barton Arcade is a Victorian shopping arcade that has shops and restaurants on the ground floor and offices and administrative spaces on all the other floors. The architecture style is really beautiful and the stairs between floors are stunning as well. Barton Arcade is especially beautiful when it’s empty in the morning hours (just after opening), so you can capture it without the crowds."
"Built in 1871, the Victorian-style shopping arcade is located between Deansgate and St. Ann’s Square. The idyllic structure of cast iron and glass is now home to luxurious shops and office buildings. Go here to take your pics against the backdrop of colourful tiles and impressive artwork."
"Zad’s is a fast-food restaurant that offers the finest and most sumptuous vegan pizza that you can ever try and taste. Established in 2017, this 100% vegan shop is considered a game-changer when it comes to the industry of fast-food restaurants as they highly prioritize healthy diet and ethical sourcing of the food that they serve in their menu. Whether you are looking for a gluten-free base, stuffed crust or thin crust, they have the right flavour of pizza that would surely tempt your palate."
"Sometimes there’s nothing you want more than a takeaway, but they can be a tricky dining option for vegans. That’s where ZAD’S comes in. Based in the southern suburb of Chorlton, its speciality is vegan pizzas, which even come in a stuffed crust option."
"Serving a fully plant-based menu of pizzas, burgers and hot dogs, Zad’s vegan takeaway is currently operating deliveries from its Chorlton site. Orders available via Deliveroo and Just Eat."
"Zizzi restaurants are passionate about simple Italian cookery. Whether it's pizza or pasta, salads or risotto, or carne and pesce (meat and fish), each dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients - from the popular classics to Zizzi's own…"
"Greens offers an inventive take on vegetarian food, but you don't have to be meat-free to enjoy the hip restaurant, located in West Didsbury. Open by chef Simon Rimmer, Greens has been around since 1990, and it makes the most of meatless possibilities. Expect creative dishes that emphasize produce, like the jackfruit shawarma and the truffled mushroom Wellington."

"The oldest and best vegetarian restaurant in the city. Why go?. It was set up by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer back when he was all chef, no celebrity. He and business partner Simon Connolly ensure that food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed."
