"Just outside the city walls, in close proximity to the Chester Roman Amphitheatre and the Newgate is the Roman Gardens, built in 1949 by Graham Webster and Charles Greenwood with a view to exhibit the structure’s remains from the Roman Legionary Citadel of Deva, which include portions of some of the most significant military buildings, the headquarters, the main baths and general relics from the city. Most of the fragments that are now on display were discovered at the end of the 19th century. The daunting pillars were extracted from the Roman Bathhouse’s exercise hall and stood tall at 6ft initially in support of the stonework."
"Bounded to the west by the city walls, the Chester Roman Gardens were plotted by the curator of the Grosvenor Museum, Graham Webster in 1949. The park was laid out in the run up to the 1951 Festival of Britain and has ancient architectural fragments found during the 19th-century excavations of Deva’s baths and military buildings like the Principia. There’s a row of columns from the exercise hall in the main bathhouse, once almost two metres high."
"Dating back to the 15th century, the Manchester Cathedral has experienced quite a bit of history! After Henry VIII broke away from the Roman Catholic Church, the Cathedral's riches were confiscated. During the English Civil war in the mid 17th century, pitched battles were fought inside and around the Cathedral between the Royalists (those supporting Charles I, the Stewarts, and the Anglican Church) and the Roundheads (Oliver Cromwell loyalists). Also Ann Lee, the founder of the religious movement called the Shakers interrupted services here when she lived in Manchester. The church was targeted by the Nazi Luftwaffe and received a direct head during the bombings of 1940. Yet through all this the Church maintains it's quiet dignity and beauty. It is a must see while in Manchester!"
"As I mentioned just before, Manchester Cathedral is located in the city centre, so you don’t have to walk far. Actually, most of the photo locations in Manchester are located very close to each other, so at no point, you have to walk for more than 20-25 minutes. However, there are free buses in Manchester, so if it rains, you can definitely hop on one and head to Manchester Cathedral."
"Dating back to 1215, Manchester Cathedral offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The official name is actually “The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Mary, St Denys and St George” and is one amazing sight that needs to be seen in the city. It’s well worth a wander around to see the gorgeous architecture, especially as it has been so well preserved."
"Designated as a Grade II listed building, one third of the famous Three Graces, stands the amazing Port of Liverpool Building. Situated at the Pier Head and, along with the neighbouring Royal Liver Building and Cunard Building It is also part of Liverpool’s UNESCO-designated World Heritage Maritime Mercantile City. Designed in the Edwardian Baroque style, the Port of Liverpool Building is quite monumental in its physical structure, particularly noted for its large impressive dome, which acts as the focal point of the rectangular building."

"The southernmost of 'Three Graces', the trio of Edwardian buildings at Pier Head, the Port of Liverpool building was completed in 1907. Its dome mimics St Paul's Cathedral."
