"Set in the heart of the city is the spectacular Chester Cathedral, which exhibits some exquisite architecture. "Chester Cathedral was founded as a Benedictine abbey in 1092 and dedicated to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, The original church was built in the Romanesque or Norman style, parts of which can still be seen today. This church was subsequently rebuilt from around 1250 onward in the Gothic style and is what can be seen today."

"The May Blitz of 1941 saw St Luke’s church forever changed when a bomb landed right on top of it’s roof. Over time, the city has lovingly restored it back to life and it now plays host to everything from weddings, to gigs, to farmers markets and cinema screenings.
