"The Great Northern branch of Home Sweet Home offers an afternoon tea with a difference. As well as a selection of loose leaf teas or coffees and a tier of mini open bagels with maple cured BLT and smoked salmon, there is also a tier of fresh churros. The warm Spanish style doughnuts are dusted with cinnamon sugar and Dreamcheese frosting and served with warm Nutella dip and fresh strawberries."
"Designed to make you feel right at home, Home Sweet Home is open until 11pm, making it a nice late-night option for coffee lovers. Their trademark dish is the Cheeseburger Toastie, a combination of two of the nation’s favourite dishes. Edge Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester M4 1HE@HomeSweetHomeNQ / homesweethomenq.com"
"This Icelandic inspired coffee house and creative space is one of the newest additions to The Northern Quarter, and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular. The minimal design, open brickwork, old school graffitied tables and atmospheric lighting really do make you feel as though you are hiding from the cold somewhere in downtown Reykjavik. These guys know how to make the perfect coffee, and are accommodating if you require something specific – just ask."
"Everyone knows that everything Scandinavian is cool, from their lights to their murder mystery TV to, well, their weather. The Scandinavian theming of this Manchester cafe isn’t entirely clearly drawn – not sure a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich is traditionally Scandinavian – but the laidback interior is very Scandi, as is the giant map of Iceland on the wall. Wear a heavily patterned jumper if you want to hammer home the theme."
"TAKK, 6 Tariff Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1 2FF - Visit now. You may know Takk as a coffee hang-out, but this Icelandic-inspired spot is also a great place to enjoy a working lunch. Check out the satisfying range of Mediterranean sandwiches, flaky pastries and chunks of cake on offer throughout the day."
"Founded in 2012, Forge Bakehouse opened its doors as a micro-bakery. You might think, why is a bakery featured in a list of restaurants?. Well, the incredible flavours of the bread won the hearts and minds of Sheffield, and the bakehouse has expanded to offer breakfast, brunch and on occasion, late night suppers."
"Since it opened in 2012, Forge has established itself not only as a good place to get bread, but a destination in its own right. It now also serves up exceptional coffees and the best brunch around, as well as hosting baking classes and supper clubs."
"The name is somewhat deceptive; although these guys know how to make a good brew, they are also highly trained baristas, and know how to serve up an awesome coffee. The pastries, and baked goods on offer are delicious, as are the sandwiches, which you can enjoy warm, or cold. With 2 seater tables, a large centre wooden table, high top bar, and an outdoor area, find your favourite spot, and relax."
"The coffee house is ready to provide you with the apt vibe in the causal chic environment. It is located in the northern quarter, and since 2010, it is providing a raucous attitude to the drinks and carbohydrate accompaniments. The café is offering an intimidating array of loose-leaf teas, a bunch of best coffees in Manchester, and regulars like espresso."
"A cracking cup of coffee, a great name and serves alcohol too (but not first thing in the morning). What more could you want?. 36 Tib St, Manchester M4 1LA@northteapower / northteapower.co.uk"
"04/06/2021: We stumbled upon this delightful cafe by chance as we where walking through matlock and what a find it was!. My partner went for the full English and was pleased he could swap the mushrooms for more bacon because it was the best bacon he'd ever had. I had a cheese toast and a cup of tea which was also lovely."
"Nestled in the basement of the Arts Tower building, the Arts Tower Café is the place to head for oven-fresh treats. Visit the Arts Tower Café"
"Idle Hands is one for the real coffee enthusiasts, you can always guarantee a solid coffee line-up here, regularly hosting a variety of roasters. Ask for a recommendation, you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy your brew in their beautiful plant-filled surroundings and don’t forget to order a slice of pie on the side – the best sweet pie you’ll ever eat."
"This laid-back Northern Quarter café has a loyal following – not least for its incredibly moreish cream pies. Idle Hands are also loopy about coffee, offering a selection of rare filters from guest roasters. Nordic-style beans are your best shout; regular names include Munich-based Man Versus Machine and London’s Dark Arts Coffee."
"With a “cool-classroom”-vibe, plants and huge windows to let in tons of natural light – Idle Hands is another must-visit speciality coffee shop in the Northern Quarter of Manchester. One thing I love about their coffees is that there is always a choice between different roasters. And they change constantly!"
"This bustling restaurant in the Northern Quarter is bringing a touch of French raffinement to the city, utilising fresh produce and authentic cooking techniques. 63 Degrees in one swish experience for those on the hunt for a restaurant in Manchester that's earned a Michelin Bib."
"Dishing out a slice of France right here in England, 63 Degrees is the perfect place for fine dining in Manchester. Set in an informal space, there's an innovative food offering, including pan-fried scallops, escargots and artichoke velouté with truffle oil."
"Quick delivery is a key factor of this Chinese takeaway based on Barnsley Road, The Orient Chinese Takeaway have some great reviews, mentioning staff attentiveness numerous times, it’s safe to say the people of Sheffield love this place. The food is always piping hot and reasonably priced, which is probably why this takeaway is always nice and busy. They have a huge range of appetisers available, from ¼ duck with pancakes, won ton soup, and Thai style satay chicken on skewers to name a few!"
