"The pancake and waffle legends, Moose Coffee, are of course here to serve beautifully soft pancakes this Pancake Day. You can order their classic pancakes with lashings of their Canadian maple syrup (which we need on tap) or pick from their tasty toppings. Moose Coffee are serving pancakes topped with either banana and pecan; granola and chocolate peanut butter; apple and homemade salted caramel; or smoky streaky bacon."
"With two locations in the city, Moose Coffee is the place to go for your breakfast needs - and a cup of coffee. Head down to Dale Street or Hope Street to grab a morning pick me up alongside a stack of their famous American style pancakes, waffles or their own twist on eggs benedict - you can't really go wrong. "I wasn’t expecting much from a Canadian inspired shop with antler chandeliers and paintings of moose everywhere. However, much to my surprise Moose Coffee have a social responsibility and a foundation. They use local suppliers from the north-west of England sourcing food from Manchester to the Lake District and their coffee is fairtrade."
"Bold Street Coffee will still be offering a takeaway service featuring some of their favourite items on their menu alongside beautifully brewed coffee. Keep an eye on their social media to see what they will have available and pop in the next time you're on a walk for a bit of fresh air. View this post on Instagram"
"Bold Street Coffee are now offering an outdoor seating area so you can sit outside and soak up the sun with their beautiful coffee and incredible food. They are also doing takeaway too!. View this post on Instagram"
"Having found its home in Liverpool once again after having to temporarily vacate last year. Now it's back serving up “deliciously rich coffees, treats and good vibes”."
"This cosy café on Edge Street in the Northern Quarter is known for its snug interior, quirky detailing and incredible-looking cakes. If you’re looking for sweet treats to photograph, you’ll find it hard to select just one cake from their selection, so it’s a good idea to bring a couple of friends with you. And don’t get too stuck into photographing the food that you forget to capture all of the eclectic details, such as their neon pink signs."
"This place really does feel like home, or rather an American Grandma’s home. It’s Grandma in the USA, in Manchester. Floral wallpaper, little framed pictures dotted on the wall, the smell of fresh baking; you feel welcome as soon as you step through the door."
"If you’re on the hunt for a delicious breakfast in an independent café with homemade bagels, you’ve found it. Not only is it good value for money but the bagels and their surroundings will give all your followers breakfast envy on their morning commute. With sweet wooden furniture and houseplants and rainbow bagels, this spot is a good taster for the rest of the Instagrammable spots in Liverpool has to offer."
"The Bagelry recently filled the bagel-shaped void in Liverpool’s life but they’re not just renowned for their bagels, they do a pretty epic French toast. Take two slices of freshly baked brioche, slather it in butter and maple syrup and blueberries and you’ve got one of the most indulgent plates of food in Liverpool. Address: 42 Nelson St, L1 5DN"
"If you love a bagel, and what’s not to love, then these guys are the experts. Up on Nelson Street, between Chinatown and the Bombed Out Church, The Bagelry is open from 10am to 3pm for all things bagel (and donuts if that’s your thing). Try the bacon stack, the oozy double fried egg, the hash stack or the kimchi mushroom melt."
"This cute little bakery on Oxford Road serves up one hell of a chocolate brownie. They get plus points for the fact that plenty of their brownies are also vegan. Pick from exquisite flavours of salted caramel and peanut butter or Oreo cookie."

"CFCCA is the UK leader in Chinese visual culture, with a reputation for debut solo exhibitions and a roster of internationally-renowned artists; impressive considering that, three decades ago, it was just a series of events in Manchester’s Chinatown. As Manchester’s Chinese population is second only to London’s, the centre’s heritage is particularly important; now represented in a new archive and library. Best feature: A vibrant events schedule, spanning film screenings to workshops and even Mandarin lessons"
"CFCCA reopens with a duo of exhibitions investigating and unpicking themes of belonging, identity and citizenship in a globalised and hyper-connected society. Housed in CFCCA’s Northern Quarter galleries, the exhibitions are just a few minutes’ walk from the Arndale Shopping Centre. Multiplicities in Flux brings together works by contemporary artists Grace Lau and Eelyn Lee in a dialogue around identity and belonging."
"Manchester's Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art will reopen both of its galleries on Wednesday May 19. Exhibitions Multiplicities in Flux and Autopsy of a Home, which originally opened in October, will be back until June 13. Booking is advised at cfcca.org.uk but walk-ups are welcome."
"A superb collection of British art and a hefty number of European masters are the highlights at the city's top art gallery. It's home to the best assemblage of Pre-Raphaelite art as well as a permanent collection of pre-17th-century art, mostly by Dutch and early Renaissance masters. It also hosts exciting exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The gallery runs a free hour-long highlights tour from 2pm to 3pm Thursday to Sunday."
"Manchester Art Gallery always have brilliant temporary exhibitions. Thanks to these guys I discovered Raqib Shaw, who is now one of my favourite artists. Manchester Art Gallery also have great permanent exhibitions with an emphasis on the Pre-Raphaelites."
"This Maryland street diner offers American-style food including delicious burgers and tasty hot dogs. A personal favourite of ours is the Diego Dog with Jalapeño, covered in garlic salsa with cheddar and caramelised onions, but we also love the twist on the classic New York style Pastrami sandwich, the Reuben. With great value for money, a calm, friendly atmosphere and a hidden sunny terrace, there is no reason you shouldn’t check out this chic diner."
"Home to juicy, jaw-stretching burgers, the famous Clam Sam, incredible chilli-cheese fries, and now some heated outdoor tables. The FSK garden is a pretty lovely spot to grab a bite with your mates – we recommend washing it down with some sloe gin mulled wine and Baileys hot chocolate. It is Christmas after all…"
"This powerful jalapenoi-packed hot dog, complete with roast tomato and garlic salsa with cheddar and caramelised onions, is a triumph. The Maryland Street diner offers a wide range of burgers and sandwiches and is among those planning to host a stall at the upcoming Liverpool Food and Drink Festival."
