All the reasons why it's brilliant to be a vegetarian in Liverpool
"The concept grew from a love for the great American breakfast culture and nowhere does it better than the diners & delis of New York City. Our aim is to provide an American Canadian influenced breakfast and brunch experience with an authentic short order menu. From the classic Comfort Diner on 45th St to the cosmopolitan Pershing Deli at the south end of Grand Central Station, we wanted to capture the American & Canadian attitude to the best meal of the day and sought to create an eclectic mix of comfort food inspired by our culinary experiences.” Moose has a fabulous looking all day breakfast menu serving all sorts of amazing fare from the Might Moose (delicious homemade fresh potato hash fried on the griddle with garlic, onion and Dijon mustard. Topped with two Moose style fried eggs and three rashers of back bacon. Served with white or granary toast) to the Coney Island (Like native New Yorkers, a trip to Coney Island is a weekend treat. This is our classic Moose style boardwalk Hot Dog. A large 100% beef dog in a fresh roll on melted cheddar covered in our home cooked smoked BBQ pulled pork, slow cooked for 12 hours to a special Moose recipe. Drizzled with Cajun ketchup and topped with pico de gallo. Served with our delicious homemade fresh potato hash fried on the griddle with garlic, onion and Dijon mustard, griddled tomato and dill pickle) as well as eggs benedict, American pancakes and waffles (and lots more besides!)."
"For a dose of Americana with your morning coffee, there’s nowhere better to head than Moose Coffee. With two branches in the city centre, and one out in Crosby, Moose brings New York City to Liverpool with its big-time hot beverages and calorie-heavy breakfast menu. We recommend taking a Moose Macchiato (complete with a slug of caramel and topped with whipped cream) with the famous Moose American Pancakes – sticky, sweet and completely OTT."
"An authentic American/Canadian diner which serves brunch all day!. Moose Coffee is one which I had read a lot about before visiting Liverpool for the second time and knew it was a must when heading back. There are three Moose Coffee’s in Liverpool (as well as one in Leeds and two in Manchester), so if one is full you aren’t too far from another!"
"This independent coffee shop is situated at the top of Bold Street near the bombed-out church, breakfast and lunch is served everyday until 4pm with a tasty selection of pastries, cakes, pasties, toasted sandwiches and specials. Coffee enthusiasts are bound to enjoy this place, with a great range of coffee available to try. Bold Street coffee does get quite busy at times due to its sheer popularity, but you can always take your food away though if you fancy grabbing a quick bite whilst meandering around the shops."
"With a regular changing fresh food menu and top notch coffee, Bold Street Coffee is a great wake up call. Centrally located on Bold Street, this independent coffee house serves up some of the best coffee in the city. Indulge from a selection of cakes, pastries, toasted sandwiches and daily specials to enjoy."
"Bold Street Coffee specialise in these gorgeous stacked and packed buoys. There’s bacon, sausage or veggie options and the newest addition to the family … a vegan buoy. If you want more traditional, they do a very decent scrambled egg on toast too with tomato, mushroom and avo – every day from 10am to 4pm."
"This Northern Quarter restaurant’s pancakes have long held a place in our hearts, with delicious combos such as banana, nutella and salted caramel and blueberry compote with frosting on the menu. The homely diner has an array of incredible desserts if pancakes aren’t your style – with an incredible homemade cake counter that’s not for the faint-hearted. Pancake stacks include three, fluffy American-style pancakes, served with cinnamon crunch, maple syrup and whipped cream."
"This place really does feel like home, or rather an American Grandma’s home. It’s Grandma in the USA, in Manchester. Floral wallpaper, little framed pictures dotted on the wall, the smell of fresh baking; you feel welcome as soon as you step through the door."
"If you’re on the hunt for a delicious breakfast in an independent café with homemade bagels, you’ve found it. Not only is it good value for money but the bagels and their surroundings will give all your followers breakfast envy on their morning commute. With sweet wooden furniture and houseplants and rainbow bagels, this spot is a good taster for the rest of the Instagrammable spots in Liverpool has to offer."
"The Bagelry offers up all your favourite flavours of bagels, including those cool rainbow ones, and serves some brilliant coffee to wash it all down with too. Head over to grab your bagels to go and enjoy a walk around the city with a coffee. View this post on Instagram"
"It’s the perfect place to head for your favourite round shaped baked good. With different flavours made fresh everyday, you can eat in or take away for your afternoon snack. They also make rainbow bagels for the weekends… we’ll see you there."
"The concept of the railway arch as home to a coffee shop (The Fields Beneath or Doctor Espresso – Mama V's spring to mind), roastery (Neighbourhood Coffee), or, indeed, bakery (Hart’s Bakery), is well-established. For the last couple of years, their ranks have been swelled by Manchester’s ManCoCo, which is, as far as I know, the only combined coffee bar/roastery in a railway arch. Tucked away on Hewitt Street behind Manchester’s Deansgate, ManCoCo takes a little bit of finding, but once you find Hewitt Street itself, ManCoCo is pretty obvious, on the north side of the street."
"It is one of the famous cafés in Manchester, and the menu offers a wide range of coffee and accompanying snacks. The café isn’t merely restricted to serve the coffees, but it also provides a full menu of soups and slow-cooked meals. Based on the ground floor of the headquarter building, the café has earned the prestigious position of elite coffee shops in Manchester within no time."
"Located under one of the railway arches close to Deansgate train station is Mancoco. One of the original coffee roasters in Manchester they only purchase the finest sustainable, ethically-sourced speciality grade Arabica green coffee beans. All of their coffees are sourced from identifiable single-origin farms, estates or small farm cooperatives."
"Contact Theatre will be heading out across Manchester this summer for a series of outdoor performances. Contact is an Oxford Road theatre and performing arts venue creating and producing its own shows, as well as hosting tours from the world’s best theatre companies. Contact will be heading out across the city this summer, delivering a series of outdoor performances before its building reopens to the public in September 2021."
"Situated on Seel Street – one of the best streets in the city for bars and venues – Hot Water Comedy Club is Liverpool’s only purpose-built comedy venue and comes highly recommended. With comedy shows seven nights a week, this is up there with the best for catching the next big thing in the comedian world. Promoters at Hot Water are also regularly bringing the best comedians to shows in The Wirral, Manchester and at Edinburgh Fringe Festival."
"A post shared by Hot Water Comedy Club (@hwccliverpool) on Jan 1, 2017 at 6:57am PST. As Liverpool’s only purpose built comedy venue, Hot Water Comedy Club is the place where you’ll find live a good laugh 7 nights a week; come rain, some shine. It’s an independent comedy club in the Ropewalks areas of the city, run by two brothers, which originally began as a weekly comedy night to round off the weekend on a high, and it grew from there."
"23/05/2021: Recently came to have a meal and was very pleased with the welcome from the host along with helping with track and trace and being covid secure, loveliest staff members taking our orders and they were more than helpful in accommodating me with my nut allergy and double checking the food contents. Very much appreciate not being made to feel like a burden with my allergens, would highly recommend to visit and enjoy good food and surroundings. 17/05/2021: The staff were great, following COVID guidelines only down side was the outside area has not been touched during the lockdown there are cigarette bins broken off the wall and the seating is old and haggard it needs some investment"
