The best affordable restaurants in Greater Manchester
"Bella Italia might not seem like the most obvious choice for a bottomless brunch, but actually, their offer is pretty damn good. You get two courses and bottomless prosecco for £27.99pp, and you can take advantage of this offer every Friday to Sunday between 11:30 and 5. How about a bruschetta followed by a pizza, or a delightful pasta dish?"
"The stylish curved steel structure of Salford Quays was completed in 2000, following on from plans drafted in 1988 to regenerate the derelict Manchester docks area. The centre is now a cultural hub of theatre and gallery space, with a few restaurants…"
"The stylish Lowry Centre in the heart of Salford Quays in Manchester plays host to Bella Italia, part of the highly popular Italian restaurant chain with ..."
"You must have been living under a rock if you haven't heard of Rudy's. The Neapolitan pizza masters only recently started doing takeaway (only collection at first) around lockdown, but we're so happy they're keeping it up - those queues and bookings out the wazoo at their Peter Street and Ancoats locations are impossible at times. They even started selling 'Bake at Home' kits, though you really need a proper oven to make it the way they do."
"If it’s traditional Neapolitan pizza you’re after, Rudy’s has held back 50% of its tables at both the Peter Street and Ancoats restaurants for walk-ins only from this week, so you can find menus, opening times and more information on the website here."
"Listed amongst the world’s best pizzerias in international pizza guide, Where To Eat Pizza, Rudy’s Pizza has grown from a pop-up project into a full blown word-of-mouth phenomenon."

"Address: Sheffield Arena, Unit 3, Valley Centertainment, Broughton Lane OR St Paul’s Place, Sheffield City Centre, S1 2JL. Phone number: 0114 551 9198 OR 0114 551 9197. Price: From £25 per person"
"Pizzas are big business these days, but gone are the times of cheap and cheerful pizza, and here to stay is an emphasis on quality ingredients, wood-fired ovens, slow-proved dough, the delicious charred spots around the crisped-up crusts, and some interesting toppings. https://www.instagram.com/p/BudzAWfAEdt/. You can get a pretty big pizza from just £6.50, with a range of choices – such as the ever-reliable Maggie, the Simply Salami, or the True Blue (Yorkshire blue cheese, ground hazelnuts, caramelised red onions, and mozzarella)."
"Pizza is a classic takeaway, you just can’t go wrong with it!. And vegan pizza takeaway, delivered straight to your Sheffield accommodation?. That’s the kind of life we’re talking about!"
"In Rome pizza isn't round; it's rectangular and served al taglio (by the slice). The owners of this pizza bar travelled to the Italian capital to learn how it's done, and it shows. Everything is made onsite, every day, and it's all good, from the elegant simplicity of the beautifully light, bouncy focaccia, dressed with olive oil, rosemary and sea salt, to classic toppings such as broccoli, sausage and chilli."
"While ice cream isn’t their raison d’etre, Northern Quarter pizzeria Slice offer the continental experience in abundance, allowing you to eat al fresco in Stevenson Square with a cup of their custom-made gelato. Their rotating lineup is impressive too, varying from classic flavours such as raspberry ripple to the experimental Key lime pie. 1a Stevenson Sq, Northern Quarter, M1 1DN"
"This 13th-century church about a mile north of Macclesfield is the fourth church on this site. But what’s unusual is that the third church is still here, out among Medieval yew trees. There’s a Norman Romanesque chapel in the churchyard, dating to the 12th century, with semi-circular door and window arches and weathered but visible tympanum relief and lozenge patterns in the archivolts."
"A post shared by Bishops’ House (@bishopshousesheffield) on Mar 20, 2016 at 4:52am PDT. Built at the end of the 15th century, Bishop’s House is the best surviving timber framed house in Sheffield, and is open to the public at weekends. The charming Grade II listed building has been open as a museum since 1976, allowing visitors to explore the exhibits in the house and get a glimpse of life many centuries ago."
"One of the few real 'tourist attractions' included on this list, Bishop's House is known as Sheffield's "Tudor hidden gem". A window to the past, kept open by the Friends of Bishop's House, the house was built in 1554 during Mary Tudor's short reign. Find it near the entrance to Meersbrook Park."
"Situated in the heart of Manchester city centre, Manchester Art Gallery mixes history with contemporary fine art to bring us the best exhibitions and collections. The gallery is also famous for its 19th century British paintings and Pre-Raphaelite works. This gallery is great for any art and design students as the variety of work on exhibition is of such a wide variety to suit any artistic style."
"Come to Manchester Art Gallery, conveniently nestled in the centre of the city, if you want to take a walk through Manchester’s art history. Here you will find works that go back to the pre-Raphaelite period as well as works by famous local artists like Lowry (see more below). It’s most certainly one of the best things to do in Manchester if you love a big slice of culture."
