Popular as Cathedral Church of Christ in Liverpool, built in 1978, it presently houses the prestigious seat of Bishop of Liverpool. Total length of Liverpool Cathedral, including the Lady Chapel is 189 m, making it the largest cathedral and religious building in Britain and the longest cathedral in the World."

"Dating back to 1215, Manchester Cathedral offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The official name is actually “The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Mary, St Denys and St George” and is one amazing sight that needs to be seen in the city. It’s well worth a wander around to see the gorgeous architecture, especially as it has been so well preserved."

"Considered the centre of the city, St. George’s Hall sits opposite the Lime Street railway station. Designated as a Grade I listed building by English Heritage, the Hall houses a number of concert halls and law courts. Completed in 1854, it has notable Greek and Roman architectural features."

"Warrington Town Hall was built in 1750, and listed as a Grade I building nearly 200 years later, in 1949. The hall consists of a country house designed by James Gibbs for Thomas Patten - originally called Bank Hall - with two detached wings, all of which are listed. THe Patten family were highly respected merchants in Warrington, having made the River Mersey passable from Runcorn to Bank Quay, and owning a copper smelting factory."

This Palladian residence, with a pediment sporting the coat of arms of the Pattens, was built for Thomas Patten, whose family was in the copper smelting business. Bank Hall was sold to Warrington Borough Council by John Wilson-Patten 1870 and its grounds became Warrington’s first public park."

"A tremendous mixture of styles, Adlington Hall was founded at the end of the 15th century and then reworked in the 18th century. So while the north and east facades have romantic black and white timber framing the south and west wings are brick built, with a solemn Palladian portico. Adlington is hired out for weddings, but on Sundays between April and October the house and gardens are open to visitors."
