"Founded in 1917, this large green space - part botanical garden and part wildlife habitat - is an engaging contrast to the busy city center. There are numerous walking trails on the property, as well as regular guided "health" walks. Popular things to do here include enjoying a stroll or picnic, or opting for more strenuous activities, such as tennis, rugby, or football."
"Fletcher Moss Park is located in Didsbury and is a great place to go if you really appreciate nature. The pathways take you through some lovely scenery, making it an ideal place to take a long, relaxing walk. There’s also a café on-site for when you’re feeling a bit peckish, and you could get a little picnic going with your household/bubble."
"Just outside the city walls, in close proximity to the Chester Roman Amphitheatre and the Newgate is the Roman Gardens, built in 1949 by Graham Webster and Charles Greenwood with a view to exhibit the structure’s remains from the Roman Legionary Citadel of Deva, which include portions of some of the most significant military buildings, the headquarters, the main baths and general relics from the city. Most of the fragments that are now on display were discovered at the end of the 19th century. The daunting pillars were extracted from the Roman Bathhouse’s exercise hall and stood tall at 6ft initially in support of the stonework."
"The Roman Gardens are close to the River Dee and are a collection of Roman period remains collected and assembled here from around the city. Chester’s City Wall runs down one side of the gardens. Visitors can enjoy various Roman pillars, capitals and columns, a reconstructed hypocaust (under floor heating system) from the legionary baths and a modern mosaic."
"This adorable Green Flag garden is the vestige of an estate founded in South Warrington in the 1830s. The house was occupied by three generations of the Parr family, but was demolished in 1970 after years of neglect. In spite of the disuse, the walled garden survived and is now as beautiful as ever, with three ponds, herbaceous borders, fruit espaliers and vegetable plots."
"Historic kitchen & pleasure gardens with ponds, paved pathways & a Victorian greenhouse. Address : Witherwin Avenue Grappenhall, South Warrington WA4 3DS, United Kingdom"
"Located near River Mersey, Church of Our Lady and Saint Nicholas is a beautiful and one of the oldest churches in Liverpool city. Also known as Liverpool Parish Church, this is listed in the ‘National Heritage List For England’ and considered as a part of Greater Churches Group. Known for its spectacular lantern spire, wooden interior and paintings of eminent artists; this church overwhelms all, who pays a visit here."
"Founded in 1794, St Mary’s - or the Hidden Gem, as it’s better known - is the oldest Catholic church in Manchester and was the first to be built after the Reformation. Its stations of the cross, by painter Norman Adams, are considered one of the greatest ecclesiastical art commissions of the 20th century in this country and entry is free for visitors to admire them. St Mary’s Catholic Church, Mulberry Street, M2 6LN"
"Another religious site worth visiting - and something of a hidden gem in Manchester - is St. Mary's Catholic Church. Built in 1794 and located next to the historic Market Hall, it's also known locally as "The Hidden Gem." But don't let the structure's rather plain exterior stop you from popping in for a look inside. Here, you'll find numerous fine Victorian carvings."
"St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church can be found on Mulberry Street, a quiet cul-de-sac between Deansgate and Albert Square, in the middle of Manchester’s city centre. The church has earned the more familiar local nickname of The Hidden Gem. As you approach and enter the building, the reasons for the name become apparent."
"Dating back to 1215, Manchester Cathedral offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The official name is actually “The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Mary, St Denys and St George” and is one amazing sight that needs to be seen in the city. It’s well worth a wander around to see the gorgeous architecture, especially as it has been so well preserved."
"If you are looking for somewhere that you can get away from the chart music you will love 42s. Known specifically for alternative, non-chart music and a relaxed dress code. 42s will be perfect for a chilled out night dancing and enjoying some good music with your group."
"It's the same duo again here - the Schofield brothers are launching their second site in Manchester just weeks after opening their first. Atomeca will be taking up a unit at the towering Deansgate Square development. The European-style bar will serve coffees and pastries in the mornings, with tapas-style plates and cocktails in the evenings, all with a waterside location alongside the River Medlock."
