"This Indian eatery first opened in Leeds but has now expanded to become a chain of three, including one branch located in Manchester’s Piccadilly. Hidden down a set of stairs in a basement off an unassuming city centre street, this place might be hard to find, but it’s worth searching for. Most dishes are vegan, including the newly launched for 2020 vada pav burger, which consists of a deep-fried mashed potato ball, red and green chutneys and deep-fried (spicy) green chilli, all in a vegan-friendly bun."
"This laid-back Piccadilly street food favourite has canteen and booth-style seating, and bespoke artwork nodding to Manchester’s industrial heritage. The informal menu is entirely vegetarian: think spiced okra fries, or bundo chaat, a delightful mixture of crunchy samosa pastry, chickpeas, tamarind chutney and turmeric noodles. An excellent beer list showcases local breweries."
"Indian street food and craft beer bar Bundobust is a shining gem amongst the restaurant chains of Piccadilly Gardens. Venture down its wooden stairway and you’ll be met with a sprawling food hall, complete with casual canteen-style benches and a glorious glass skylight. Don’t expect a typical Indian menu though."
"Another special spot in Spinningfields suitable for both celebrations or just a boujee Tuesday – The Ivy’s roof terrace is stunningly decorated, with plus velvet furniture, fire pits for warmth and grand trees throughout setting a botanical theme for its brasserie offering. Most of the space is for diners, however, there’s a lovely bar within the terrace, too, where you can perch up for a drink or two. The Ivy, The Pavilion, Byrom St, M3 3HG."
"For those who like their brunches with a touch of glamour and a sprinkle of special, Ivy in Spinngingfields should be top of your list. Head to the first floor brasserie which serves British dishes from 11am every weekend, encompassing all the classics, from smoked salmon through to asparagus and hollondaise."
"When it comes to meat-free dining in Liverpool, this lot have reached legendary status. Although DTH will be closing its doors in January as we navigate yet another national lockdown, fear not: you can still get your fix delivered to your door. In honour of Veganuary, they’ve added an exclusive meal deal to their Deliveroo platform: any burger and chips, plus a side and drink for £16."
"Located in a basement on Duke Street, Down the Hatch has been crowned Liverpool’s “dirtiest vegan junk food bunker.” Home to some of the best deep-fried food that the city has to offer, Down the Hatch takes home-cooked food and puts a junk food twist on it, that even if you’re not vegetarian, will love."

"Well known as one of Liverpool’s best brunching spots, you might be surprised to find out that The Quarter is a family-run restaurant. Taking inspiration from Italian cuisine, this cute bistro-style venue on the cobbles of Falkner Street is famous for its contemporary European dishes and friendly vibe. Serving everyone from students to famous faces (including LFC manager Jurgen Klopp), it has extended three times since it was opened thanks to an enduring popularity and some delectable dishes on the meal."
"Find The Quarter on the cobbled streets of the Goergian Quarter and enjoy a bowl of pasta with views of one of Liverpool’s most beautiful areas. Sit outside in the summer months to soak up the sun and lunch won’t get much better. View this post on Instagram"
"The Quarter in the Georgian Quarter of town is a beautiful spot to grab a picture. Sit outside on the cute little tables, grab some breakfast and people watch on the old cobbled street. View this post on Instagram"
"You'll need to have a browse of this menu online before your booking at NYL, because everything sounds so damn good, you could be hours trying to decide what to order. Bottomless bevs include prosecco, Coronas and three different types of G&Ts, while brunch dishes range from Sweet Potato Eggs Benedict, a mouthwatering Fry Up (or Anti-Fry Up for vegans), Crispy Chicken Wings, Cured Gammon and Emmental Cheese Toastie and Breakfast Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushroom, chorizo, spinach and egg, or a veggie option with onion and tomato). Pretty sure they could hear our tummies rumbling from space."
"NYL is based on the ground floor of Aloft Liverpool and is famous for its gin offering Book a booth here and raise a glass to 2020!"
"Bound to have your taste buds tingling, Lucha Libre brings Mexican street food to the streets of Liverpool, and we couldn’t be happier about it. For those new to Lucha Libre, we recommended the “Lucha Surf ‘n’ Turf Platter”; this includes a little bit of everything on the menu, such as spiced brisket, monkfish & chorizo skewers as well as chipotle gravy. The perfect selection if you fancy trying a few new things out, and the friendly staff will have no problem guiding you and ensuring you make the right decision."
"When you’re known for the best in Mexican food, it’s only right you put a twist on it for afters. The team at this Wood Street favourite have taken the quesadilla, a dish usually associated with chicken, beef or veggie fillings and thrown the concept out of the window by introducing something altogether sweeter. The Nutella Quesadilla comes with helpings of the chocolate hazelnut spread, served with mascarpone cheese, mandarin and spiced pecans."
"Lucha Libre put on a Mexican inspired spread that’ll have you whaling out “just one more churro” until the inevitable white flag of defeat is waved. Their take on a full English is incredible, their Mx Muffin, which is basically a McMuffin with pulled pork and self esteem is amazing but nothing beats their taco tray. Tacos and quesadillas with maple crispy bacon, egg, morcilla, chorizo, rancheros, pork belly, cheese and churros all on one tray."
"Circular in design, it stands resolutely between the Midland Hotel (where Mr’s Rolls and Royce developed the car) and Manchester Town Hall. The galleries and exhibit halls flank the outside of the structure. Just downriver from the slightly more musically-famous Liverpool, other offspring of Manchester’s illustrious musical history include Morrissey, Joy Division and the Stone Roses."
"Manchester is undoubtedly a music lover’s city, so this rock ’n’ roll-themed chain fits right in. It serves American classics in energetic surroundings, with plenty for the kids to marvel at, including a jacket worn by Elvis Presley and Kurt Cobain’s guitar.. The kids menu has some nice healthier options too, such as chicken salad, tomato and broccoli pasta and fresh fruit."
"Côte Brasserie serve breakfast and brunch from 8am until 12 noon on a Monday to Friday and then 9am to 1pm on a Saturday and Sunday. Highlights include a breakfast set menu that involves any cooked breakfast with fresh orange juice or cloudy apple juice and a hot drink of your choice. Options include a full English breakfast, Crepe Complete (pancakes, bacon and comte cheese), Eggs Florentine, Eggs Royal and Eggs Avocado."
"Offering top quality breakfast and lunch, coffee and drinks from professionals that take pride in their work. Address: Preston, UK. Phone: 01772 888 863"
"McGuffie’s offers a more traditional feel beside a host of modern and trendy bars. Its history dates back to 1795 when “Edwards and Penny, Druggists & Chemists” first opened its doors at no. 58 Castle St. The business enjoyed many years of success before coming into the hands of our famous Mr. McGuffie sometime around 1840. John Rowland McGuffie proved not only to be a Pharmacist of considerable skill but also a shrewd businessman who was gaining considerable esteem within the City."
